Points for Express Entry Immigration Ranking System

Express Entry Program Points system Canadian Express Entry Immigration program uses a Comprehensive Ranking System which awards maximum of 1200 points to the Foreign professional based on a number of factors. The candidates for Express Entry program compete with each other based on the points they get through the Comprehensive Ranking System. Only the top candidates are randomly selected by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence. It is important for the potential foreign professionals to understand the Ranking system and calculate their points before they submit their profile in the Express Entry pool.

There are four main factors which are considered while assessing the candidacy for Canadian permanent residence.
A. Core / human capital factors
B. Spouse or common-law partner factors
C. Skill Transferability factors (Max 100 Points)
D. Additional points (Max 600 Points)

The maximum points a candidate regardless of marital status can obtain is 1200. However, a foreign professional has the maximum chance of being invited by Citizenship and Immigration Canada for Canadian permanent residence is when he/she has either Arranged Employment or nomination from Provincial Immigrant Nominee program.

The candidate must obtain Canadian equivalency of their foreign educational credentials to obtain points under the education factor. English or French language tests are also required to obtain appropriate points under the language skills.
